raindrops

patter of rain on the air conditioner
metal outside
steady and consistant
its soothing in its way
window streaked with wetness
streets slick with moisture
a bus growls along the street
tires hiss

Dont know what Day it is
Tuesday Wednesday perhaps
Wednesday already
must be I had school this morning
was going to stay and paint but
came home

too restless to sit there and
paint called the movers to try
to get a day lined up for boxes
delivered and maybe have it
for tommorrow but I will be in
school and painting tommorrow
all day

big raindrops hitting the metal
now neighbours upstairs loud
even though its probably just a
normal function going on up there
damn apartment with wooden floors
this old twelve plex has seen
better days mostly original stuff
echos in the halls loud doors
just plain outdated by more
comfortable places built since

we are on a top floor of a house
where we are going carpets on
the floors what luxuries for us
nothing but barren tile on this
two bedroom places floor

the cat is busy running from the
bathroom into the living room and
back She is happy I am here with
her I know she must cry when we
go out because one day I stayed
in bed here when Lori left and the
cat cried and cried at being left
alone She is so tender our cat
good ol Tweet

she is still small though and not
growing too much she will probably
be just a bit bigger then she is
now No twenty pound cat for us
hah

they are digging up the roads in
a couple of places up here
gas sewere maybe not sure
water?? big backhoes on tracks
and dump trucks ROAD CLOSED signs
with those reflective barrels

tired maybe will go to sleep for
a bit try to rest
