cleaning man blues

so today was the ongoing house
cleaning day
didnt get into at all
but managed to drag my ass
around with Lori keeping on
me every few hours

thought i was finished but
she told me that i needed
to wipe down the cupboards
outside and inside
and the bedroom and computer
room and made me do the
waxing and polishing of the
two end tables and coffee
table with a rag instead of
paper towels

so i did
took me forever and im running
loads of washing in the laundry
too and folding and putting
away

that walk i did to the mall
i came home up the side of the
highway like i used to do
a few years ago

forgot how traffic roars past
at sixty miles an hour just
ten feet away crazy to think
i did this days on end picking
beer bottles on "my section"
of major highway when i lived
with Kelly in Gravenhurst

got lots of sun though and
there were trees and a couple
of creeks to see along the
way lots of fencing and
businesses and houses schools
finally made it to city
intersection and came through
a totally different way
across the city

Lori is napping now
Her children got in touch
with her she loved my card
and candles

we have some windows open up
here and its cold out
Lori has her "blankey" on

i ate her lambchop
i admit it was wrong
i did it last night
half asleep

and i am clumsy with cleaning
stuff so she told me thats
why women should do the
cleaning because they are
more careful
i get in a hurry sometimes
like today

but today i didnt break
anything

and she said that women
should get men to do more
housework and laundry
because women have been
doing this damn job for
years plus working and
raising babies and making
the house run

luckily i grew up with an
older pair of parents that
helped each other out
around the house My father
cooked and cleaned and cut
the lawn (half acre on a hill)
shovelled the driveway
did laundry occasionally etc

they were both amazing workers

a freind dropped by for tea
we had a good quick chat

i think i got a bit sunburned
today out there

gotta get the load of laundry
now
