new wheels

light seeping in through the blinds
birds chirping

air conditioner rumbling

woke up from a dream

it was night at our old cottage
and i went looking for the car
and it was not there

remember drinking and going to
look for the car after knowing
i drove drunk

except in this dream the car
was gone

it was a windy warm night
there was a moon
water lapped on the sandy shores
the television was on

it woke me right up and so here
i am wide awake
will stay this way until i bike
to work today

Monday morning rise

have never gotten up this early
like in forever

but i didnt take my medications
either

my sleep meds anyway
so this obviously have something
to do with it

I went at the house work like at
six o'clock yesterday

cannot believe how much of my hair
is everywhere its long and its dark
like just getting past my shoulders
now I brush it and lots comes out
i think its normal to lose a lot
of hair but Lori keeps saying i am
going bald and i say i am not

i think i would have been bald by
now at forty four my freind went
bald in his mid thirties

anyway the house is cleaned
scrubbed the floors bathroom
kitchen vacumed the whole place
dusted the living room down
did the dishes and put them all
away

and then went and rubbed loris
feet for hours and hours

its obvious i spoil her
she trained me to clean and cook

before that it was sporadic
if not at all

she would get rather on my case
when i didnt really want to do this
i look back now and cannot believe
that i once was actually refusing
to clean my own living quarters

not that it was beneath me
or that i couldnt do it

just some kind of mental thing

now i can do it in nothing flat
its a routine
and i like it now

it gives me a sense of satisfaction
having a clean apartment
everything hung up or put away
clean
dusted

i even combed out the cats little
round bed of his loose shedding fur
and combed him for a bit with this
comb Its not a cat comb so it
barely made much of a difference
but at least i tried to look after
him for the moment

eventually we will buy him a proper
brush and i will brush his loose
hair out

even painted the background for a
loon picture i need to have done
very soon

i cant believe how much of a difference
having a bike makes once again
walking
i never noticed how elevation is
so much more magnified when wheels
are concerned i never noticed how
rough the city streets are the
bumps and lumps and potholes

we had our big weekend barbeque
again and everyone enjoyed themselves
i washed the barbeque off yesterday
finally of dust and dirt and grease

i think we will need to buy propane
very soon though

its nice having people over
we watch movies afterwards and talk
and i end up with all the dishes
but Lori puts the meals together
and another freind cooks the meat
so it works out Another freind
brought some cream pies

and then we went walking downtown
to a farmers market too this weekend
that was very nice
we walked the whole way there and
caught a bus back

so yes this weekend was a very
good weekend
