through gnarled branch
and power line

this moon glows
behind the ragged cloud

her shadows crawl up houses
and across roads
creep and animate through
river and lake
unfrozen yet

and i awake
restless
impoverished
of sleep

my love who
takes me
waits
for me

and so it shall
be

tommorrow
we will be
together
again
as one
