what the hell

the night is hot
and sullen
the yellow glow
through trees
and past the
dark shoulder
of house next
door is dull

sitting in the
empty room
on the single
bed

the junk room
of most rooms
where i find
myself most
comfortble
and most alone

no stars
just overcast
the far glow
from above
the citys small
pulse thrown
back

i watch the red
numbers change
minutes then hours

dreaming in a
semi sleep trance
so far come

forty five
and counting

so many more to
go
