evening on a Sunday

Heat lightening
blazing on the distance
behind the weeping willow
on the corner

from streetlight to streetlight
the kid practises on her longboard
Hangs onto my black shirt and I
run along in the dress shoes
the board transfering the roadway
sound the brand new trucks gleaming

already an athlete she transfers
to the new skills
with ease

the heat is bearable and the moon
is sitting over the lake half
devoured with black the cloudtops
are alight with its sallow tinge

a sprinkler hisses
and lights twinkle in the haze

the wheels clunk over the breaks
in the street asphalt
