orgami's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

tungsten roller ball

cull the fray
the periphery you told me
would find its own

you told me the brightness
was to wash
we are fixer
dirty water holding fast the
crystal

There was nothing but dust
like dirty snow

like the water
swimming
sediment held in its turpidity
like the wake of a gaze held
for too long

do you remember the poem
your wrote in shorthand
how you said it was like
braille for the tongue
that it was the eyes
that would take in all
vestiges and stitch it
all together into the fabric
mosaic

you could tell wool from silk
from text scripture

and you had that marvelous
pen

all the prizes like darling
glints

memory like indentations in
clay

you loved my sloppy handwriting
and made me one coffee
with goats milk you brought
from home in the mason jar

its gold in the stores now
its value then in (......)
so dear
