Cassels

tannic Chippewa Creek
and the noisy street behind
my back
Number eleven a few stops
before heading north
up Thibeault Hill with its
truck runaway coming south

I lean against the old painted
green steel railing and feel the traffic
thumping over the bridges littls span and Look down
and watch the creek jump delighted
in its spring joy its banks
watered and stones washed

the trees that line its bank
between the home business's
the backyards where it twists
east looking south
and rounds the bend
