remember the railroad days
heading north with my father
on the section gang he was
foreman over Bank widening
sitting in the engines talking
to the brakeman and the engineer
drinking coffee cooked on the
gas stove in the ATCO units
anchored to the flat cars
The jennies roaring away
in the afternoon the boreal
wilds..
