orgami's Diaryland Diary

KRYE

she sniffs
the tears running
shes not stopping them

"hush hush babe"

Im slipping the button holes
over buttons left upon right
the traffic is heavy
the cab dispatch said its busy
expect a waite
the glow clay sky surreal
like a fire watchs us
through the old windows
the verandah with bikes
the tenants watching television
making love listening to music
like drafts they drift and the
dark ornamental wild shrubs
twist upwards past the lurch
of the fences.

"why do I have to go?"

You scarf is tucked in right
your hat tilted on the froth
of dark chesnut hair
your cheeks are flushed like
roses and your lip trembles
like this
when your angry
when your sad
when your hurt
when your mad

this is the way it is..
the rollers on your case
wait the handle pulled up
I pull up the one pocket
flap so it doesnt fill up
with snow and brush it down

catch our reflections in the
mirror...you will be a ghost
again when I pass through
the house in the morning
waking up to catch the buses
sitting with everyone else
while we rock along the tracks
staring at wires the windows
the sunshine flaring away
the night dreams
the chill

"give me a call when you get home"
I tell you
and bright blue eyes sad but
hopeful...the weekend was eventful
we look but never find the grave
in the large quiet tree filled cemetary. She can never remember where her mother was buried.. she was ten at the time.
Drinking expressos in a lunch bar..
the cab arrives the driver efficient and courteous

awake the phone on the table nearby
a television show
I stare at the ceiling listening to the planes and buses go past the business of people here moving down the halls the lobby door with its voice
