the night is thick
and cracked as shellac
on the CHinese fan

that the city lights
flicker
upon

cut the wire
when the clock stood
out

dose of horror
hissing in the haze
the dreams full
of summer heat
and lightning like
a whip
past the mirage comfort
of the lost islands

down past the gentle green
crushing depths

there are monsters in the
thin wafer mirror you stroke
your hair in

caught in the light

the bus catcher footsteps
and whump of the door

there it is
