walk through the through....

another damp christmas
the early hours bringing up
the hot shining led lights
the snowflakes dropping past
languid and slow like a dream
like teardrops of a great ache
the great wide heart
full of stars...

|I have visions to follow
and footsteps to fill)

a cigarette in a restless
mouth and a day half swept
away...a night half here
beneath the soft deep velvet..

a music theme of distant rock
jangles the drumbeat strong

dressed in clothes waiting a
mission run downtown....the
mile and a half along the tracks
past the little lake..the new
subdivision all looking like
their healthy wealthy each
others......

kick ass notions
and i smile
a ravaged bitter laugh

its been awhile
and Ive been waiting
