christmas rains

rain pours down on the empty
streets and slick sidewalks
ice builds up on cars
this close to Christmas
and no snow
just this rain to sing a
slumber song

lots to do tommorrow

go and buy a new phone
with our gift certificates
come home and watch more
television
clean up the apartment

bus was modestly busy
shoppers with gifts under
their arms and in their
trundle buggies
people wearing those
red and white Santa hats

Wal Mart alive and well
with full aisles and long
line ups at the check-outs

glad that this year is
almost over with
looking forward to the New
Year
