cold at the drive through

wait
no one around
open the gate
step inside
climb up into
the bin and look
around in the semi
darkness for
old buns discarded
snacks interesting
junk

not that long ago
it seemed to be
filling up a bag
of old bagels
and donuts
muffins
cold cold winter
the stale hearty
flavour of cigarette
butts from the
smoking room mixed
in with the sour
grease

going to the motel
and eating them
as dinner
breakfest
whenever i got
hungry

watching television
