fourth of Jan

came outside for the walk to
the bus this morning before
work and its unbelievably
warm out water is freezing
here and there and the snow
banks that were large are
shrunken sad remnants of what
they used to be before Christmas

just read the local paper and
we didnt break any records for
this December past
still its so damned odd that its
this warm

anyway break time here of course
i am slowly fixing all the details
on the craft projects
they have used stencils to dab
paint on the wooden items and of
course some have too much paint
and have leaked around the
stencil and there are just plain
paint smears on others
But of course I enjoy doing
this kind of patient work with a
small brush

Lori is working on her signs at
her table behind me

tommorrow is pay day thats good
some money to put towards a
bill

feel hungry but i'm not going
to buy any junk food today
maybe i'll head downtown and
catch the soup kitchen at lunch
break today there are no
errands this Thursday to run
the soup kitchen is not that
large but it sits enough and
the soup is always homemade
and the main courses are very
good and healthy too The
volunteers are very freindly
and the city offers its most
gracious generosity in charity

i remember when there was no
soup kitchen and i just went
without for the most part
just relied on tinned food
from the food banks

cant find my one cd
its somewhere in the apartment
or maybe it got lost in the
shuffle during the holidays
i'm still hopeful that it will
turn up though but i got so
hooked to listening to it
over and over of course

then last night i finally ran
out of those AA batteries that
i buy from the dollar store
they are all gone
lots of half dead ones laying
about the cat still finds them
and plays with them
but they have to be brand new
to power the player
i usually get five nights of
play out of fresh batteries

I should buy a recharger..
should.. there are a lot of
shoulds in my life
