the end it should be near somewhere
so here comes another birthday and im still fat and old with a back thats moody and a mind that burns at that basic level somewhere between light and dark and all the reserves therein whats to say about surviving to this day of age wiped out new orleans ice sheets melting gas two dollars and rising smog heat waves tornadoes and locusts ha ha ha sooner or later we'll all move back to the caves painting animals the great hunt and then?? the great nothing perhaps our megacities where when will the plague thats due will emerge from its sarcophagus skitter about touching hand to hand to eye to mouth nose to ear what are we rushing towards thundering across the great continents hungering for our glittering palaces halls of beasts slaughtered for our endless appetites of flesh and more flesh society still hangs on though the polite and persistant we still have our air conditioner our television and our computer our combustion engines hand on the throttle spray paint can botox injections another moulded product another sneaker stitched for every cure we devise resistance sneaks behind us its all small now nothing to concern ourselves turn the channel pump up the volume wash the car oil the bike throw out another tub of papers water the lawn flush the toilet wow its all these documentaries ive been watching and the news i have seen Chernobyl the forests the feilds taking over the city the instant decay at work i have seen blueberries the size of marbles genetic mutations call it what you will i just take note of all of this i have read the books from the library about plagues and drug resistant bugs they have now about past plagues and wars about doomed ships and airliners the simplest of acts ignorance is bliss today was a good day though thunder in the sky and lightening and our radio playing forever and ever eighties music and i mix more plaster and sand more casts modify and mulitply and a new job tree waterer something new yesterday they let me cut the plastic off the moulded plaster mould a stryker saw with the little vibrating blade the kind surgeons also use to cut open the skulls of patients same sound what no one told me was the longer you use the damned thing the hotter it gets and its difficult to hold a person needs two hands it wants to jump and run on its own but i struggled through the two legs made only minor mistakes the learning curve yesterday i changed flourscent tubes with the small footstool ladder been at this place now for seven months probably in all that time the glacier somewhere melted back twenty feet somewhere and the oceans rose a couple of millimetres from all the other glaciers around the planet melting too onward we hurtle aging as the turtle never catching our shadow now to check out Chat see what kind of human intelligence is on tonight
