long long write about war and planes
painted tonight lots while listening
to Worlds Away and eighties hits
grunge rock and even clicked on
Led Zepplin even though i would
have just been a toddler back then
or at least a brat as my sister
called us Well the oldest birth
sister of our adopted parents
ha ha
brat anyway good tunes throughout
the painting is a large board with
oval edges about eleven inches high
and the background is a fall scene
with creek and stones
and a fallen log in which four
deer are either jumping over
two
and three standing in the foreground
looking back its a painting so its impossible
to get the colours right and its
a copy from the damned internet
which makes for blurry or
misconstrued colour and detials
or sizing however with a Flim and a Flam
at the time
OVER A YEAR AGO
i smilingly agreed to do this and
lugged the board home and threw
it in the closet with the curved
sign that goes above this
and then just three weeks ago
found out its due like Yesterday
or Friday OOOOH MY FUCKING GOD but the guy is very cool about
this
but we need the said agree upon
cash
life comes at yah fast
and we dont have the credit card
ha ha ha so i worked on it and its coming
along very well
building up the colours
one wash at a time
Im using acrylics which are
watered down and loaded on thick
in whatever case i need it
i havent learned how to layer
it thin over and over like the
pros im rather rough like in
real life but it gets done and
looks pretty decent
hard to imaging someone looking
like me is an artist
well you can never tell and the bike i took this all
the way up to ZELLERS and it
worked in the snow and icy
day clunking and skipping
gears and then in the parking
lot almost there the rear
gears just start to spin
nothing it does not catch to
drive the wheel
just spins so i push it to the store
go in there and wander around
buying stuff and looking at
stuff check out the high heels
heh heh oopps get out of there look at the mechanical stuff
finally leave and then
try to do an old trick that
worked one other time
i spin the pedals by hand
very fast for like twenty
minutes to try to warm
the gears up to thaw and
catch but nothing happens so i get home and put
it in the laundry room furnace
room by the furnace
overnight
and in the morning
it works
and i get my oil spray
good old WD-40 and douse
the workings with that
and notice that dust from
the road is coated and
ground up in the workings
of everything
the chain is stuck in one
spot so i work the kink
out by hand
my hands are all black
and oily
Hmmmmmm feels so good
getting dirty
touching mechanical things ohhhyah well for a change
you know I am a man anyway get everything all
done and put the bike away
No riding it today
tommorrow like in a few hours
to work
the roads are open enough in
spots and the sidewalks are too
even though there is also
treacherous ice also
so i have to be careful as i
drive crazily there like usual last night i looked at Nuke
bomb footage because at first
i liked the bombers
and my YSFLIGHT GAME MICROSOFT FREE
game which is crude graphics but
effective flight characteristics
has a LANCASTER four engine bomber
from world war two and a lot of
them were made in southern Ontario
with Merlin Rolls Royce Engines
the same engines that were put in
the P-51 aircraft fighter planes anyway I also saw the Mynarski Bomber
in Gravenhurst Ontario one summer
and you could walk around it and
take the little tour inside i touched the tail guns and walked
in the huge huge bomb bay
incredible bomber and then in the game is the b-29
made famous by bombing tokyo
and crash landings on Iwo Jima
airport after the americans had
captured the island there are
successful landings too but
there are a lot of shot up
B-29's that just crash
poor bastards so i fly around in both aircraft
and YES i get to drop bombs
there are a lot of other jets
to fly too and various camera
positions etc i like this game based on a pilot
who loves flying and shared
his software free with donations
accepted better then i like the
F-18 Korea Hornet game

its cool too anyway looking at bombers led
to what they are for
dropping bombs
and that led to watching nuclear
bombs being set off which led
to Hiroshima and Nagasaki
the only two bombs dropped on
civilian populations
so there were of course
clips of the burns and affects
of the bombs and bodies
etc largest bomb dropped was
sixty megatons by the Russians
up north somewhere
sixty four kilometers straight
up went the cloud thing is with these bombs they
make a few miles flattened out
but its not like they burn away
the atmosphere or light fire
to the ground like some science
fiction horror its pretty
basic atom smashing energy being
released just like in space when
a star explodes or goes super
nova only much much smaller but the catch i guess is this
there are lots and lots and lots
of them North Bay would be hit right away
so Im not worried about Nuclear War
this city would be wiped off the
earth if i were the enemy i would
want to dispose of the radar tracking
station here along with all the
creature comforts of the staff Jericho I never watched that show
but did watch some of the other genre
movies and for fun watched the
fifties info movies about dropping
like the turtle
duck and cover its just a matter of time before
someone starts to mess around again
big time with the nukes America and Russia would drop them
to stop the agressors be they large
or tiny in the sixties America was blowing
up Nuclear Bombs three hundred miles
out in space Who knew that
Kennedys time
the Russians were concerned about
Radiation to their cosmonauts
and then it was rumoured that
the russians were detonating nukes
on the other side of the moon Now we know America has the capabilities of blowing up satellites
from earth it just gets better and better ramjet technology gives a small
payload a rather short
800km less distance surface to
surface vehicle and these can be let go from
bombers
or offshore
or from military vehicles but its the missles that get
everyones attention its what we have burned into
our conciences from toddlers on I watched vehicles taking out
groups of people also
helicopter cams mostly
with tank assist mortar assist
cannon assist
on strikes basic the same thing as world
war two
or pirates for that matter but then i watched captured
footage from the so called
other side
videos made by soldiers
fighting against the americans in the morass of streets
around American positions
107 rockets which are shells
that self project on a little
track they could be pointy
trash receptacles in offic
chic office cubicles
all metallic
these are basically just
easy to carry about by two
men and set up side by side
by someone with a good knowledge
of math Or women
and set off
away they go up and then down
the people take away the tracks
and crap like det wires cords etc
and another day goes by and then there was the small
non descript car which there
are thousands of in that country
driving around with a brave
and dedicated enemy dropping
mortar rounds in the tube of
the launcher
with the tube aimed out the
window of the small car
someone was driving
of course
and whoever the camera man was
just driving down a street
dropping in mortar after
mortar aiming it towards
american positions this is what Americans are
up against
and i watched a grenade round
go off in a angry little ball
of fire and black smoke
as they drove along
two american vehicles
well three
it didnt do much damage
and no one was harmed
but still out of the blue
or those roadside bombs
car bombs
suicide bombers etc one of the clips that
humoured my dark side
was the tank that lobbed
a grenade at a flock of
sheep that a shepard
was leading alongside
the road at dusk
the second tank drove
past quickly
the camera panned back
as the grenade exploded
in the midst of the sheep
the tank sped along and
you could hear the young
men laughing another clip was an american
dropping a grenade in wash
machine
very effectively this was blown
to shit and it was funny they stopped some guys in a white
small car again with a load of
lumber on the roof
Looters so they put everyone on the ground
a short distance away
said loudly
"THIS IS WHAT LOOTERS GET"
and the Americans about twenty feet
away or closer started to fire their
handguns into the car
there were about three of them
different races
then they got their big assed tank
and it clunked along right over
top of the car and lumber
just nipped it first
then flattened it with a second
pass the one guy said he was a taxi
driver and that was his living
but still they were brave for
being out like that
maybe they didnt care i can still see the car though
wagon or passenger would work
with the mortar tube out the window war is hell i fly my planes knowing that
Lancasters were used to drop
bombs on tagets in europe
and that hundreds of thousands
of people died and that Bomber crews and officer
staff
DID NOT RECEIEVE A CAMPAIGN MEDAL
AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!! i fly the B-29 knowing that they
dropped fire bombs on the people
of Tokyo civilians all it saddens me
that man has all this potential
to build and to be
to create and become
something more and in the end
we just keep on fighting
and killing and dying hanging on to what illusions
of peace we have We are at war this is America today
Canada is at war in Afganistan I grew up fearing war as a child
only to be writing pages of it
here in Diaryland
today because I am haunted by
not dreamy assed make believe
poems about love or pangs of
longing but by what I see here on the
internet NOT what little i see
on Television and it is the youth who are
watching here aware
that in a few years come a
draft or volunteer
that they too may serve or withdrawal in the meantime
My heart goes out to all
who are serving and who
are the mothers fathers
brothers lovers of these
freinds who are making
the sacrifice just as was done in my
father and grandfathers
