learning the how of We

so quite peaceful
the wind the traffic
the people talking as
they dig up dandylions
in their yards and talk
behind neighbouring fences
about life in their day

and i got my pay

two hundred dollars

i feel like a king

and My Lori and I
we went downtown for
a walk to get some air
while shes feeling well

and i behaved for once
and asked her questions
about her life and feelings
and daughters
and such

we bought some gifts the the
young teen and I agreed to
go and have coffee at her place
of choice

a little resturant she adores
that i thought before as trite

Now i see that they serve up
the best kindness in the whole
kingdom

just some older elders getting out
and us and the most nicest
waitress ive ever met

it almost made me want to cry
why could I not see what
she loved best

why was it always where i wanted
Twiggs which is noisy false egos
but chic

the other place is so quiet
and peaceful

none of the hub bub and racket

patch up what storms my damage
has done to us again
will we fare this again

i cannot tell

but she is not afraid so much
now she has heard of resources
and help if we break up
for real

she is strenghthened and i am glad

i cooked our dinner we bought
at a little grocery store
and we talked downtown and back
and i walked slow because she
is so small and i am so tall

just kind considerations
thats all it takes
we are not our enemies

and i dont like the bars
even with the surround sound
and barmaids called crystal

its boring and empty
and i dont like hockey anyway

time to go and fold my laundry
so we have nice clean clothes
for us

something i can do to help us

and me
