softness in the drift

smoothly detatching like swimming
in warm dusk waters

while cloud continents catch the
waves of sunrays on their mountians

water so seductive to the touch
lay back and bask in its release
the freedom the stress leaving

climb heavily from the water
dripping leaving footprints on
the walkway

the cottage lights are turned
on tonight its barbeque
and some dark roast coffee though
the perculator

black and white television
old school
and all the bank of windows
to watch the shades of burgundy
lead to cherry black
