the wind sucks at everything
overturning trash bins
scattering the lids
moaning in the tall wires
on tall poles that range
up the street

eighty footers

i need sleep badly
am here instead
listening to music
but will transfer
my body to bed
put on the headphones
there and turn off
tune in and turn on
