Artifice

lethargy cigarette bitter
creeps like a vine serpent
around the swollen bulb
all tangerine coloured

this thick jockeyed
evening with its lust
shred edging
lace mirth dancer around
gothic angular hips
and draped stomach
down the long slalom
of thigh

I despise the lone summer
fly still flitting in the
cold air
distracting and morose

the wind is suffuse and
dreams short dreams
sighs like a sleepy lover
through rouge cherry lips

you the angel who gaurds
the way laying on your
wings of black
oiled and sleek like
obsidians razor

you fallen on your
quest inhaling pungent
Gitanes sipping Pernod
and curling sleek
toes against grain worn
floorboards

your wet prints are on
the tiles
your dewy reflection
stole envious minutes
and held the hour
at bay

the night is a hallway
of dark derision
black as the spade
tatooed on my hand

the plummet of the rain
the plume of light
evaporating from the
puddle

you are my swoon
my charisma muse
