octoberus

back is fried
nothing eases the ache
that ravenous wavelength
wrapped around the spine
settled in the muscles

nagging neverending

ripples of shockwaves
coming up the stairs
from the basement
kitchen

tried sleeping and then
wide awake

slouched almost flat in
this chair leaning sideways
too but no
nothing works
nothing helps
nothing eases
this

already tanked up on pain killers
they are starting to
not work again

time to just drop them
cold turkey
for a time

then start them up again
when its agony on the
bike going in

sometimes its three hours
before its bearable
at work bending lifting
standing

at this rate mobility may
well become an issue in
ten more years if i make
it

and the leaves are fallen
like the sunsets early
darkness with her cape
of stars
swirls in
and the vanilla city glow
with its russet streetlight
flow
