Splitting hairs
how can one take
the road to not take
and the road of effort

walked so much today
in this pre snow wind
the lake rough but I
didnt go near

time was essential to
keep moving at a fast
pace in shoes designed
for not cross country
walking and yet
they held

the clouds marvelous
the traffic steady
not in years had I
moved steady
the broken clavicle
aching this pain
of age and risk
still sucked it up
and even climbed the
escarpment trail
stopping to catch
my breath on the way
looking back at North
Bay like Ive never seen
her wild and the lake
throwing silver light
in its choppy green

my appointments kept
dinner made for the
little family

and some study and teachings
of the bible later
like compass points
like stars
like true freinds

principles and guides
to bolster intuition
