SKATTERING

the lightening out across the lake
strikes this thick dark cloud
the rain falling in the puddles
the cars hiss past

busy summer city

soup kitchen had rhubarb
pie for desert
this not eating right is
getting to me

coffee at work was delicious
lots accomplished there

two ten per cent german beers
in the small fridge along
with two tubs of margarine
and nothing more
I like the sound the little
fridge makes at night
and alien out there kind of
hissing after it fires up
the compressor

shoulder very aching today
back not too bad I have
analgesic cream to apply
but the arm is something else
pain gnawing away on it
like a wolf on a bone

pain killers steady
these too affecting me
at this age it just sucks
sometimes ha ha

and the rain still misting
in this heat and falling

listening to chopin
peaceful
serene on the headphones
