September Ninth

ordinary manner
the rousers out in their
rebel carouse

Is it Jupiter shinning bright
in the east with a Moon almost
full and behind me the star
with its rotating fire off of
Big Bear what name is this
for I have long forgotten

Night breeze swaying the dark
edged limbs
the grasses of rest
a gentle restlesness prevailing

here I am still awake still
up and aware having watched
yesterdays sun set and todays
sun rise The morning far away
when I rose on Thursday at six
thirty nine am

pushing it back with caffeinne
with the tender evaluation of
pain killers working out the
tedious lengths and routes of
infractions and the evening
full of its brisk glory
its simple pleasures
its quiet reflection
