funny how you can stretch time
out like taffy
a little heat
a little magic
some sweetness
and a few deft moves
and four days all
squished into one long
visage
television soundtrack
a window full of rain
and a heart full of pain
and sadness like a rotten
tooth throbbing when
the waranty on a smile
wears out

Thin gladness sometimes
like cheap shoes
looking good on the top
but you feel every
sharp pebble on the hard
road of knocks
