weekend....a compression of days
sleeping and arising..

monday a distance to meet

full of its derision and mystique

an order of hours
a collection of tempest moments
while a season arrives..a former
decays...

I remember driving in the states
the heat at dusk....the plain flat structure of the landscape
the air burning in its rush through the windows.....we were miles from home...miles to a destination.....
cold comfort on a sizzling nightfall...the drive of a motor
growling beneath the doghouse in the van....the stars rising like the distant town streetlights blazing like white wildfires..like winter mirages...
