happy happy joy joy..

i really didnt dig wren and stimpy years ago and i found
squid billies to be way out there..
then saw animal trash..cartoons and
live action puppetry that the americans
were making.....i grew up with
hr puffinstuff and monkees and shaggy
and scrappy which were cartoons....
i loved heavy metal mag..from seventy nine on......rock punk and weirdness..

a strange time..cold war..reagan thatcher..the wall coming down
the wall..pink floyd..all that crazy
times..and we had the end of fm stations
those things are gone....

wow...

pretty much a memory..
i listened to blondie over and over
brand new in seventy nine and gary
numan...funky town...im ancient..
that was it man..you felt excitement
and watched television..no cable then
the few stations you could get
and late night movies..strange stuff
once everyon else was in bed but the
night owls...television was wild then
too......

different....way different
tame now....the world has just become
more agressive and crueler but it
was wild then...it was way out there..
i lived part of it...i went to the citi
to be a tourist for a few days..
pick up a record..get the magazines
you would not even dream up here
music and poetry and women and coffee
shoppes..where you could be weird and
hang out all day and it was not about
the five dollar coffee.....
it wasnt better..there were a lot of
problems that were not even brought up
that are all taken care of today...we
are just pushed further down into the
lair of the human psyche....i think..
