star shine

almost twelve o'clock
clouds and wind today
not too bad to walk outside

fearing a black-out
all our food would spoil in the freezer
not to mention the shops and stores
in this city
then if it did for a few days go out
and our food did spoil we have no
money to buy new food so we would
subsist on canned soups and beans
cold of course
unless we had a coleman stove
(which we dont)
candles would only last so long

But peace no rumble of machines
just cars circling the darkness
people out for a drive to let the
cool air of momentum breeze over
their tired heat soaked bodies

the odd drone of generators here
and there and of course the sky
the milky way and the bright
exclamation of planets

....
