hear the droning of the fan
the whir of it
steady and neverending
the punctuation of the keys
the offbeat clatter
a soft drink can being set
down on the hardtop of the
old kitchen table

darkness fills up the familiar
places
the glow of screens
information
entertainment
intellectual entrapment

question the source
sometimes
ask why
not everything is truth
from these devices
