Rocketship Seven

Yes
last night i was writing
about Commander Tom and Rocketship
Seven that show my little brother
and I watched when we visited our
cousin in Toronto They had the
wonderous thing called cable
television and this huge remote
on a long thin wire that had a
hundred push buttons on it
that was one of the shows i remember
as a kid

so i wrote about it last night and
went online and looked it up and
found a whole bunch of stuff about it
i even got to hear the theme music
from the show something i havent
heard in thirty years probably

its amazing to use this machine
we had at our home growing up in
the country a bunch of encyclopedias
from the early fifties my parents
had bought for my older sister
to use when she was a kid thank
god for those books the nearest
library was two miles away and
my parents were not the type to
drive us there or help with the
homework

that was then

but now any kid with a computer
can just punch in stuff and up
it comes on the screen and a printer
etc and a school project comes out
pretty damned neat

but what happens to the poor kids
or kids whose parents just wont
get a computer??? what a gap this
must create in school how can
a kid without a computer compete
with a kid who has everything?

my kid has everything
the mother works with computers
and spoils her and the kid works
remember

well at least my kid has a computer
thanks to the mother

i am grateful
