over old ice

gravel loose and fresh on the
cold concrete

a freight coming into town
blowing its air horn at the
Nuns motherhouse crossing

hiss of air brakes on a bus
stop

the drone of this fan in my
computer

rumble of my cat Tweet as she
purrs (our cat)

the sound of the power tools
in the woodshop working area

the sound my cd player makes
when it first starts to spin

wind howling around the window
in my bedroom

water running off the vinyl
tub surround in the shower

water percolating through a
thick layer of fresh coffee

crows sitting on top of the
apartment building near the
bus stop on top of the antenna

everyones "good morning" when
we get on the bus

Loris snoring when i am quietly
watching television

my coffee cup lid breaking open
and pulled back the sound the
styrofoam makes when i push the
lid on

all the SUV's with tuned exhausts
growling along main west

the dog twins next door
