overcast and warm
no rain

coffee maker switch is broken
I have to boil a kettle
and stand pouring it through
the top the filter

nothing like anticipation
it takes minutes to get four
cups

and then the black oily elixir
the whitener smoother then milk
with its own exotic taste

ran out of sugar

when I make a run to Twiggs
I use to packs of brown sugar
and then a stir stick
wooden to sit on the patio
stirring and crushing the
crystals on the bottom
of the beverage for a full
five minutes until they
are dissolved routine

listen and look for the
ravens

feel the hot sun
watch the traffic
the jets flying over
the city and making
their north american
course correction
for the rotation of
the planet
