summer
thick in sleeve green ways
and the water waves
lashing the sandy shore
the afternoon cool breeze
playing over everything
that lush hour hesitant
to be away and already
the sun will set sooner
until the seasons change
and the leaves turn
that smokey autumn against
the hills the frost ripe
mornings glimmering in
chilly haze

already the night is long
sitting here writing
instead of packing
must be getting back to it
right now...
