11:11p.m.

alone in thoughts..
the sun was burning russet
today falling from the sky

and later like I was watching
the sun and the ravens
the traffic steady
on the overpass

I saw the bright shine of
the planet

the trees are empty and cast
with shadows now
forgotten summer damp and
drenched

the creeks catching sunlight
now and moonlight when she
comes.. when the velvet ermine
spills down in its cascade

the hunger of the ghosts come
to wake me in the winds that
howl and shake the houses

branchs like bones
reaching for clouds they
cannot touch
