Mammoth walk

the stars are so beautiful
glittering
shimmering

and aircraft come in blazing
with their lights

the planets shine steady
and the streetlights the new
LED ones are great..No great
swath of orange glow like the
sodiums..soft and steady directed
down not up their light..peaceful
and harmonious with the dark sky

The Mammoths could walk here
and not be startled...unearthing
up things with their tusks
tasting water from the creeks

The primitive dog we have (shar pei)
would sniff the air and tell me
there was movement out beyond the
caves fire...
